Printing directly to a shared network printer [From Windows XP] Step 4 - Adding the printer port
Windows, realizing that we want to create a TCP/IP printer port, opens the "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" wizard.
Instructions: In the "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard" welcome window, click the "Next" button in the bottom right corner of the window.
The "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard" "Add Port" window needs you to enter the IP address of the printer. 10.0.0.1 is the IP address of the printer being used in this example, but the IP address of your printer may be different. Hint: the IP address of the printer is usually the same IP address as the computer or device (e.g. Airport Base Station) it is attached to. The port name should be automatically filled as you enter the IP address. Click the "Next" button in the bottom right corner of the window.
