Printing directly to a shared network printer [From Windows XP]

Step 7 - Adding the printer as local

In the same way we "added" the printer earlier in this guide, the printer will be specified as "local". This is because we don't want to use another computer in the network as a print server.

Instructions:

In the "Add Printer Wizard" "Local or Network Printer" window, select "Local printer attached to this computer" and deselect "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer". Click the "Next" button in the bottom right corner of the window.
